Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 14, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to TryhardNames. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you visit our website, use our free tools, sign in with Parent Auth, or manage a private Gaming Passport draft.

2. Information We Collect

We collect limited information needed to operate and improve the Service:

  • Information you provide: For example, if you contact us (such as name, email address, and message content).
  • TryhardNames account and Parent Auth information: For example, account email, user ID, session state, and provider identifiers needed to sign you into TryhardNames.
  • Gaming Passport private draft fields: For example, alias, avatar URL, short bio, and visual presentation choices that you save in your private draft.
  • Usage data: Such as pages viewed, approximate region from IP, browser type, device type, and timestamps. This helps us understand performance and fix issues.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: Small files or storage used to remember preferences, measure traffic, and support security.

3. Gaming Passport, Parent Auth, and Future Providers

Parent Auth is the account system used to sign into TryhardNames. Google Auth signs users into TryhardNames only. Google is Parent Auth only and is not shown as a gaming proof, badge, or public provider account.

  • Account email and user ID may be used to own a private Gaming Passport draft.
  • Gaming Passport starts as a private draft. Draft fields may include alias, avatar URL, short bio, and visual presentation choices.
  • A draft is not public by default. Publishing requires explicit user action.
  • Riot and Discord are future linked provider accounts and are not live yet.
  • Riot data is not currently collected in production.
  • If Riot or Discord providers are implemented later, they will require explicit authorization.
  • Provider tokens will stay server-side when implemented.
  • Public pages will show only approved/allowlisted fields.
  • We do not sell Riot data, use hidden player data, or put Riot data behind a paywall.
  • Unlink/revoke for future providers is planned before their launch.

Roblox account linking

When Roblox linking is available, you can authorize Roblox with the openid and profile permissions. We receive your Roblox user ID, username, display name, avatar URL, and account creation date when supplied. We use these fields only to verify account ownership and display your linked identity in your private Passport. We do not request your Roblox password, Robux balance, purchase history, or a cross-game competitive ranking.

Authorization tokens are handled only on our server, are not saved in the Passport database, and the Roblox refresh token is revoked after verification. You then confirm the link in TryhardNames. The ownership badge records verification at that time; it does not represent ongoing authorization. An encrypted, HTTP-only security cookie and a temporary server record bind this process to your signed-in account. Attempts expire after 10 minutes; temporary profile data is cleared on completion, cancellation, unlinking, or subsequent expired-attempt cleanup.

Linked Roblox profile fields are private by default and are not sold or used for advertising. Unlinking removes the displayed profile and clears its stored profile snapshot. Revoked identifiers and verification records remain to prevent reassignment and abuse. For deletion requests, use the contact details below. Roblox linking does not publish your Passport or authorize future access.

osu! and Steam account linking

osu! authorization uses identify and public permissions to verify your account and read your username, game mode, performance points, ranks, accuracy and medal count when available. Tokens are processed server-side and revoked after verification, not stored for ongoing access.

Steam sign-in uses OpenID to verify your Steam ID. We read your display name, avatar and account creation date when available, plus the game count and up to six most-played games with reported total and recent playtime. Steam privacy settings can make these details unavailable. We do not receive your Steam password or infer a competitive rank from library size or playtime.

You confirm each connection before it is saved. These are dated snapshots, not continuous monitoring. Steam snapshots remain private in this release. Publishing a Passport is a separate action and does not automatically publish newly linked accounts. Unlinking clears the saved profile snapshot and revokes its ownership proof; identifiers and revocation records are retained to prevent reassignment and abuse. Temporary linking attempts expire after at most ten minutes.
